    My initial setting turned out to be great.
    Here's how it's working: (e=electric FP gauge, m=mechanical FP gauge)

    Full Boost ==== 7.5psi
    Idle FP ======= e52psi, m55psi
    Static FP ===== e62psi, m66psi
    Full Boost FP = e81psi, m85psi???

    A/F 2-3 LEDs into rich all the way to the rev limiter (oops! thats what happens when you're staring at the A/F gauge!)

    I am very, very happy with the Cartech 20005. It is worth more than I paid for it! (Thanks Jim).

    This makes the JR FPR seem extraordinarily safe in comparison. It adds more than 20psi on top of what I'm seeing now.

    (Bring on 8psi!)

    Update: While these settings are fine in lower gears, I've found that in 4th and 5th gear pulls, the A/F ratio dips down to 1-2 green and 1 yellow LED.

    I'll be closing the bleeder valve a little more to richen things up and stay safe.

    Any comments on tip in ?

    Run it on a hot day and let us know how it handles tip in detonation.

    Just as a reminder make sure you have the restrictor in the signal vac line.... 85psi sounded a bit low for stock injectors at 6psi. Should be about 95.

    Holden, I noticed the same thing about 4th and 5th gear. I guess because the engine's working harder trying to pull in those longer gears.

    plumvtec: I can't comment much on tip-in detonation because I haven't had a problem with it.

    I only got it once, when I was driving strangely (for me) because my daughter was sleeping in her car seat.

    Since my static pressure is much lower now, (mid-60's now vs. mid-70's before), I may be more at risk for this. I'll post about it if I start to get it.

    However, my driving style and the 94 octane gas I use exclusively make tip-in detonation mostly a non-issue for me.

    Lundgren: I followed your latest hostboard advice and ignored your website and did in fact install the restrictor right off the bat. What do you think it does? Slow down the reaction time of the FPR to protect the membrane from sudden jolts? Actually lower vacuum/boost inside the FPR compared to the manifold? I don't quite understand what it is doing.

    I'll post back when I find settings that keep 4th and 5th gear safely rich.

    The restricter reduces the airflow through the signal input (vaccuum/boost line to the regulator) giving the bleader valve some control over how much signal is diverted away from the diaphram. Without the restrictor, you won't be able to lower the rise rate of the regulater much if at all because the signal line flows way more air than the bleeder valve (with check valve) can even if it's wide open. At least this is the case with the Cartech 20005 unit I'm using. You need to use the check valve BTW.

    Yup, I need to update my site, but yes, check valve on the bleader, and the restrictor on the signal vac line. Otherwise you'll not change the pressure much at all

    OK. I should edit this topic's subject!

    I closed the bleeder completely and it had no effect. Max psi was still 85psi. I think that the baseline of the Cartech must have been below the OEM FPR's.

    So I put the static pressure up to 65psi and left the bleeder closed. Max pressure = 91psi. Idle is still 51psi.

    I'll leave it like this and test 4th and 5th gear next time I'm on the highway.

    I'm starting to trust the mechanical gauge more and the electric gauge less.

    Glad to hear that you are enjoying the Cartech Greg... it is fulfilling to know that such positive results can be had so easily with this unit.

    Power to the Imports...
